 Rudolf "Rudy" Hausler

 Gary Patrick

Rudy is a transplant from Switzerland to Dallas via Illinois, Kansas, Missouri and finally Texas. A chemical engineer by training he migrated from Dallas, where he had worked for the Mobil Oil Research Corporation, to Kaufman where he settled on the Farm which he called Country Squire Farm, and from where he continued consulting with major oil companies in his field of chemical and engineering expertise. In 2001, as a complete neophyte he got his first two pregnant mountain horses and half a year later there were four. After numerous false starts and he gradually plowed through the many myths pervading the horse world and eventually settled in the approach expressed in our Creed. In the fall of 2009 Gary joined in with the goal of promoting the mountain horse breed.

"Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. They have been both a blessing and therapy for me. When my wife passed away in 2008 God and my horses helped get me through. That is why horses are so special to me and why I treat them with respect and dignity. I have also been forunate enough to be a student and friend with some great horsemen. John Crow has been my biggest influence and best friend through the years. He has unselfishly shared his knowledge about horses and training. Through him came the opportunity to work with Peter Campbell. Peter apprenteiced under the original natural horsemen Tom Dorrance and Ray Hunt. Their wisdom and knowledge has become invaluable to me. Larry Whitesell and Travis Robinson have also added to my horse knowledge and helped me get to where I am today. Through hard work, determination, and the help of some great people I have learned a lot about horses and how to properly train and treat them." -Gary Patrick
